Hey! This time I’m doing a review of the band Prawn. The nice guys send me their album False Institutions, so I could do a review and put it here. First I was just like, yeah, lets get this done, and then it happened, I started the music, and BAM, my mind was blown away. The album opens up nice a slow with the song Nightmares, and then BAM again, beautiful guitars and a lovely vocal. Then it moves on to another beautiful song called Thousand Grains of Sand, and you won’t even notice it. The whole album kinda melts into one long song, which is kinda sad, because that takes the ability for every song to shine. Overall I would recommend this to people who are fans of: I hate myself, mewithout you, fall of boss koala, hot cross, Pianos Become the Teeth, The Late Parade, Blink 182, post rock, rock, indie, emo, pop punk, post hardcore. The thing that caught my attention the most was the lyrics – this probably sounds weird – the lyrics are kinda “bad” in a really nice and good way. Not that they are bad, they are just kinda right in your face like I Hate Myself, instead of using metaphors in every line. I kinda like that, and hope more bands Will do that.
